The following packages are available to choose from:

Meals Only: R13 250 per team
Standard Tents: R14 950 per team (incl. mattress but NO pillow/sleeping bag)
Luxury Tents: R20 950 per team  (limited availability)

Payment must be made within 5 days of successfully registering your team. 

Please note: Accommodation on the night before stage 1 and night of stage 3 is not included in the entry fee.

Each entry package includes:

  • A unique and beautiful mountain biking experience
  • A Ciovita Rider Jersey
  • A W2W event garment
  • 7 meals through the duration of the three days
  • Wifi available in the race village
  • Fully stocked waterpoints

Luxury Tent Accommodation

Valid for two evenings only for the event you have entered and sleeps two (2) riders per tent.

Entry package also includes:

  • Access to the Luxury Tented Village Accommodation Area (this is security and accreditation controlled).
  • The tent is complete with interiors, beds & bedding (bedding is changed per event, so you can look forward to nice & clean linen).
  • A bedside lamp
  • Private Upgraded hot showers
  • Private Gents and Ladies Toilets
  • Each tent is carpeted
  • Each tent has a camping cupboard in order to make things a bit more comfortable.
  • Each tent has a bedside table & bin
  • Each tent has an undercover sitting area outside the tent 
  • Each tent has two camping chairs
  • Access to all rider accredited areas within the village (*riders only)

Team Categories

Your team’s category is determined by the youngest member of the team. Teams who wish to compete for Open prize money must register in the Open category. These teams will no longer qualify for their age group leader jersey or prize money.

Whale Category

This special category is reserved for those living on the larger side of life. Teams that consist of riders both over 99 kilograms can register as Whales and qualify for recognition that often comes in the form of bottles of wine from the award-winning farms along our route.

Prize Purse

The 2019 Prize Purse is a total of R550,000, the highest per day in any stage race in South Africa!
Prize money for all women’s categories will be awarded in the Chardonnay race, all other category prize money will be awarded in the Shiraz race.

Cancellation Policy

Entry Cancellation 

Should you wish to cancel your entry, please note the following and contact the Race Office at registration@wines2whales.com to have the cancellation processed.

  • 75% of the entry fee is refundable if the cancellation is done in or before the month of August
  • 50% of the entry fee is refundable is the cancellation is done in September
  • 0% of the entry fee is refundable if the cancellation is done in October or November
* If at a later stage your partner can no longer participate once substitutions have closed, you will be allowed to do a late substitution at Registration day.
* Entries are not transferable to the following year.

Optional Extra Cancellation

Should you wish to cancel any of your optional extras, a 15% admin/cancellation fee will apply.  Please contact the Race Office at registration@wines2whales.com to have the cancellation processed.

Substitutions & Withdrawals

Substitutions can be done online as follows:
  1. The rider dropping out of the team must do so through their online profile. Click on the "Substitution" button under your team details.
  2. The remaining rider must then sign into their online profile and pay the applicable substitution fee. 
  3. Once the rider change fee has been paid and received, the remaining rider may then invite a new partner via their profile. The new invited partner will then receive an invitation email where they will be required to sign in to their profile and complete their rider details. 
Online substitutions close on 11 October 2019. Hereafter, late substitutions must be done at Registration day. 

The following fees apply for substitutions: 
  • Before 10 October: R300 per substitution
  • Registration day: R1000 per substitution 

Please note:
  • Cyclists who have entered and paid, but cannot participate in the FNB W2W Event, for whatever reason, must inform the Race Office.
  • No cyclist is allowed to participate under the name of another participant. Such action will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Substituted team participants will receive the clothing size of the initial participant, unless this is changed before 30 March.


All riders must accept an online liability disclaimer upon registering their team for an event. 

Failure to accept the liability disclaimer will result in the rider not being allowed to start the race.
