The deadline for all appeals and queries once seedings have been posted is Tuesday 16 October, 17:00 and can be addressed with SA Seeding directly at info@saseeding.co.za.

Final seedings will be posted by Friday 19 October.

How it works

  • SA Seeding will batch riders for the 2018 FNB Wines2Whales MTB Events. SA Seeding use an algorithm to create smaller groups based on the best-against-best principle in batches.
  • There are a number of MTB races that you can participate in to improve your seeding; listed on https://saseeding.com/
    If there are other races you’d like SA Seeding to include in your Index calculation, you are welcome to let SA Seeding know – they will then request the results from the specific race organiser.
  • Only your best 3 results will count towards your indexes.
  • Batching will then be done using your SA Seeding Index. We take the best index between you and your partner and batch your team accordingly.
  • If you have any questions, please contact Alicia at info@saseeding.co.za

How to improve your seeding?

  1. Participate in tougher, longer and bigger events – these type of events will better your seeding;
  2. Participate frequently – the more frequent, the better your seeding (the older your results the less it influences your seeding);
  3. Your best of three races in 24 months will count towards your seeding, if you participate with a slower rider in other events, it will not affect your seeding.
