Stor-Age, South Africa’s leading self storage brand, has been confirmed as an event sponsor of the FNB Wines2Whales for 2018 with a focus on improving the rider experience.
The estimated total value of the 4 000 bikes that will hit the trails during the FNB Wines2Whales amounts to over R270 million. So, when it comes to where to store those bikes overnight after each stage of the race, safety and security is front of mind for all riders.
Stor-Age is providing the perfect solution for riders with the ‘Stor-Age Bike Hotel’, a secure area within the race village in Oak Valley. Riders can store their bikes safely and securely overnight in the Stor-Age Bike Hotel, which will be positioned alongside the Squirt bike washing station. Once the bikes have been washed, they will be moved across to the Stor-Age Bike Hotel. Riders will then be notified via SMS that their bikes are clean and stored safely.
Riders are also being offered a complimentary premium bike wrapping and boxing service at the finish of each race. Riders simply need to take their bikes to the Stor-Age bike boxing area at the Hermanus High School near the finish, and the team will professionally wrap and box them for free. For riders wanting to relax at the Marine Hotel finish, Stor-Age will also be providing a complimentary storage area where bikes can be stored safely while riders take some time out.
Stor-Age is offering the same premium boxing service to all riders travelling from Gauteng prior to the race. On 22 and 29 October, riders can simply visit Stor-Age Bryanston (1 Vlok Road, Bryanston) and have their bikes wrapped and boxed for free. Riders first need to book their slot, which they can do via the following web link: http://bit.ly/BikeBoxing. Spots for this boxing service are limited, so please book soon.

“Stor-Age’s innovative solutions will ease riders concerns about the safety of their bikes and help them enjoy every moment of their FNB Wines2Whales experience” Michael Flinn, Managing Director of the FNB Wines2Whales praised. “The Stor-Age Bike Hotel concept is a great idea and riders can look forward to the extra recovery time in the afternoons this will afford them. They will be able to hand their bikes in to be washed in the Squirt Bike Wash, and fetch them again the next morning before the stage starts – knowing all the while their precious machines are 100% secure.”
Stor-Age also have various other rider experience surprises planned so be sure to keep a look out for those during the 2018 FNB Wines2Whales events.
